The Bavarian Circle (in German , ''Bayerischer Reichskreis'') was an Imperial Circle of the Holy Roman Empire . The most significant state by far in the circle was the Duchy of Bavaria (later also an Electorate ), with the states of the Upper Palatinate , the Archbishopric of Salzburg, and the imperial city of Regensburg having a secondary importance.
