Barr Beacon is a Hill on the edge of Walsall , West Midlands , England , very near the border with Birmingham . The tallest point for many miles, it is historically the site of a Beacon and gives its name to nearby Great Barr .

Barr Beacon has recently gained a reputation as a site for Dogging . This has led to reports of violent incidents on the hill, and to the gates for vehicular access being locked at night.
