In the '' Final Fantasy '' Computer Role-playing Game series Bahamut is a fictional Dragon , derived from the Bahamut of Arabic Mythology . The reimagining of Bahamut as a heroic dragon originated in the '' Dungeons & Dragons '' Fantasy Role-playing Game and was further popularized by the ''Final Fantasy'' series of Console Role-playing Game s, among others. One such game, made in Japan, is called Bahamut Lagoon .

In, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, when Bahamut is summoned it should be red summon materia, as in the game. Instead green magic materia is used. It is obvious that the movie recognizes the different type of materia from the game, because Cloud's chest has yellow command, green magic, red summon, and purple independent materia in it.
