Australian Test Cricket Umpires




From the first Test match in March 1877 until 1994, the home nation appointed both umpires. From 1994 to 2002, one umpire was appointed by the home nation, and the other came from a non-participating nation. Since 2002 both umpires have been appointed from non-participating nations, by the International Cricket Council .

Notes:

1. James Lillywhite was a member of the English touring party.
2. Simon Taufel umpired the Test match between Australia and the ICC World XI in Sydney, October 2005, as a member of the ICC Elite Umpire Panel.
