Niffenegger's first novel, '' The Time Traveler's Wife '', was a national bestseller. '' The Time Traveler's Wife '' is an unconventional love story that centers on a man with a strange genetic disorder that causes him to unpredictably time-travel and his wife, an artist, who has to cope with his constant absence. The book is rich in detail, with special detail going into the meals enjoyed by Henry and Clare, and the locations they visit. A good deal of material is also spent on their sex life. The rights to the book were bought by Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston . It is rumored that Pitt will star in the adapted film version of the story, which will be released in 2006. Gus Van Sant has been confirmed as director, and Jeremy Leven has written the screenplay. She has also written a book called The Three Incestuous Sisters . This book is a 176-page graphic novel, or "novel in pictures" as Niffenegger calls it, and tells the story of three unusual sisters who live in a seaside house. Because of the artwork and mood of the story, the book is frequently compared to the work of Edward Gorey . EXTERNAL LINKS
