The Associazione Guide e Scout Cattolici Italiani (AGESCI, ''Association of Italian Catholic Scouts and Guides''), founded in 1974 , is a Catholic Scouting and Guiding association in Italy . AGESCI is coeducational and has about 200,000 members (according to its homepage). Founders of AGESCI were the Associazione Scout Cattolici Italiani (ASCI, ''Association of Italian Catholic Scouts'', founded in 1916) and the Associazione Guide Italiane (AGI, ''Association of Italian Guides'', founded in 1943). The association is a member of the Federazione Italiana Dello Scautismo , Italy's national member of the World Organization Of The Scout Movement and of the World Association Of Girl Guides And Girl Scouts . Affiliated to AGESCI is the Südtiroler Pfadfinderschaft , the Catholic Scout association of the German -speaking minority in South Tyrol .
