HISTORY


When it was first surveyed in the mid- 19th Century , it was named "Soldier's Flat", it was later renamed to its current name in 1897 , after the Morris family's vineyard, which had been located in the area for over twenty years. Small industries, including a sweet factory, a brickworks, and a bonemill started cropping up after the Great War .
