Samuel Cody , the aviation pioneer and the first man to fly a heavier-than-air machine in the British Isles, lived for the last two years of his life at Ash Vale. His house, at the junction of Frimley Road and Lysons Avenue, bears a blue commemorative plaque.

The parish is served by Ash Railway Station , Ash Vale Railway Station and North Camp Railway Station .
