Art Smith ( March 23 , 1899- February 24 , 1973) was a movie actor known for playing supporting roles in the 1940s. The one-time blacklisted actor appeared in many black-and-white Noirish films in supporting roles alongside more handsome and popular movie leads like '' In A Lonely Place '' with Humphrey Bogart , '' Ride The Pink Horse '', '' T-Men '' and '' Quicksand ''. The grey haired actor usually played studious types in films. One of his last movie roles was in '' The Hustler '' in an uncredited part. He worked on televison completing a number of roles before retiring in 1967. |
