Angela Bofill




Angela Bofill is a Hispanic-American R&B , Soul , and Jazz-fusion Contralto vocalist and songwriter. Her father was Cuban and her mother Puerto Rican . Bofill was born in The Bronx . She performed with Ricardo Morrero & the Group and Dance Theater of Harlem chorus prior to her 1978 debut album, '' Angie ''.

In 1980, she performed at the 4th Annual Bread & Roses concert in Berkeley, California.

Bofill predates Mariah Carey , Jennifer Lopez , and Christina Milian as the original NYC -area Latina soul Diva .
