is a fictional character in the
Battlestar Galactica Sci-Fi Universe from Sagittaron of the
Twelve Colonies . In the first season, and almost all of the second, she is a Petty Officer 2nd Class, serving as the Communications Officer, a member of the ''Battlestar Galactica'' command staff, and managing the main communications board in
CIC . Her responsibilities included:
- Monitoring fleet-wide communications, including all of the ''Galactica's'' incoming and outgoing communications
- Ensuring shipboard communications are properly logged
- Relaying communications to all of the ''Galactica's'' Vipers and Raptors during off-ship missions
- Managing CIC operations.
At the time of
The Destruction Of The Twelve Colonies , she monitored fleet-wide communications and was one of the first to notice the unusually-high levels of shipboard malfunctions and failures aboard other
Battlestars .
There had been an ongoing
Courtship between her and
Billy Keikeya , (played by
Paul Campbell ), aide to
President Laura Roslin . He proposed to her but she refused, having begun an affair with
Lee Adama . During an incident on Cloud 9, when four terrorists took the lounge hostage to negotiate for
Sharon Valerii , Billy was killed and Lee was severely wounded. After being taken to the infirmary, Lee lapsed into what appeared to be a temporary coma. Dee promised him she would be waiting by his side once he woke up. A month later, Dualla and Apollo were engaged in a sexual relationship.
As of the end of season 2, which takes place a year after the majority of that season, Dualla has apparently been promoted to a Lieutenant rank and is serving aboard Battlestar Pegasus as XO (according to the pod cast for Lay Down Your Burdens part 2), under Lee Adama, the ship's commander.
Starbuck 's expressed low opinion of Dualla has hurt her relationship with Lee.
Her counterpart in the
Original Series is Flight Corporal Rigel, portrayed by Sarah Rush.
