Blinder received his undergraduate degree in economics from Princeton, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1967 . He subsequently attended the London School Of Economics and then received his doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute Of Technology in 1971 . He has served as the Deputy Assistant Director of the Congressional Budget Office , on President Clinton 's Council Of Economic Advisors , and as the Vice Chairman on the Board Of Governors Of The Federal Reserve System .
