In Stargate SG-1 the Al’kesh is a powerful, Goa'uld medium-range Bomber used in area bombardments of planetary surfaces. Its plasma charges are powerful enough to penetrate and collapse the Tok'ra's underground crystal tunnels. It is also a light troop transport Ship used to land Jaffa on a planet to enslave or to kill the inhabitants of a planet. It is also capable of entering Hyperspace and thus does not need a localized base of operations like the Death Glider .The Al'kesh consists of two main weapons, it has two large staff turrets underneath the vessel, and some bombs. Al'kesh do not have any shields. It is also the class of vessel that Osiris had cloaked in orbit while she beamed down to Earth to probe Daniel Jackson ’s mind while he slept to get him to subconsciously decipher the text on an ancient tablet. The Al'kesh is also the standard vessel of Lucian Alliance traders and smugglers, though more powerful Alliance members have been seen to use Ha'tak motherships. |
