Air Midwest





HISTORY


The airline was established in May 1965 and started operations in April 1967 . It was known as Aviation Services until 1969 . In 1985 Air Midwest merged with Scheduled Skyways and on 12 July 1991 was acquired by the Mesa Air Group . It now operates as a division of that company.

Air Midwest operates services for Essential Air Service and also has aircraft operating as America West Express under an agreement with America West Airlines in Phoenix and in independent operations as Mesa Airlines division of Albuquerque and Dallas . Air Midwest operates for US Airways Express from hubs in Kansas City and Pittsburgh , with smaller operations at Charlotte and Washington, DC .

Air Midwest operates services to the following domestic scheduled destinations (at January , Athens , Brookings , Carlsbad , Charleston , Charlotte , Clarksburg , Colorado Springs , Dallas / Fort Worth , Denver , Dodge City , DuBois , El Dorado , Farmington , Franklin , Garden City , Great Bend , Hagerstown , Harrison , Hays , Hobbs , Hot Springs , Huron , Jonesboro , Kansas City , Lake Havasu City , Lancaster , Lewisburg , Little Rock , Manhattan , Massena , Morgantown , Norfolk , Ogdensburg , Omaha , Parkersburg / Marietta , Phoenix , Pittsburgh , Pueblo , Raleigh / Durham , Roswell , Salina , Washington and Watertown .


FLEET


Air Midwest currently operates a fleet of 35 Beechcraft 1900D aircraft, 20 in service for US Airways Express and the rest with America West Express and Mesa Airlines.
