CODE DATA HISTORY Hifly is a privately-owned Portuguese airline company, established in December 1988 by the Mirpuri family which at the time, owned a small fleet of private aircraft, At the end of the 1980s it was decided to transform the family's private aviation department into an airline company. In 1997 the company extended its operations to commercial aviation, first in the charter sector and then, in 2001, to the scheduled flight sector. In October 2003 , a marketing concept called Air Luxor Light was introduced offering budget operations. In January 2005 it was announced that Hifly had signed a cooperation agreement with LAM - Linhas Aéreas De Moçambique to launch a joint weekly flight between Lisbon and Maputo using an Air Luxor A330-300 in April 2005. In November 2005, Air Luxor rebranded itself as Hifly Airlines. SERVICES Hifly operates the following services (at January 2005): Charter and seasonal routes include: Antigua , Athens , Barcelona , Belfast , Bournemouth , Bradford , Cancún , Cardiff , Châteauroux , Cork , Dakar , Dijon , Dubai , Fortaleza , Geneva , Glasgow , Humberside , Hurghada , Ibiza , Lanzarote , Las Palmas , Le Havre , Limoges , Luton , Luxor , Maceió , Maldives , Monastir , Nantes , Natal , Newcastle , New York , Norwich , Palma De Mallorca , Phuket , Pointe-à-Pitre , Providence , Punta Cana , Sal , Salvador , Shannon , Tenerife , Toulouse and Varadero . In February 2005 it was reported that Hifly were planning to start a daily Airbus A320-200 service from Lisbon to Ponta Delgada in March 2005.
