Information About

Aidan Delgado

Mr. Delgado acquired considerable controversy when, upon his release from the US army and his return to the United States, he claimed to have witnessed egregious cases of outright abuse to the Iraqi public by American soldiers on patrol. The New York Times (Bob Herbert) first broke this story and it was repeated by many other main stream media. Unfortunately, Mr. Delgado was unable to provide any supporting material such as secondary witnesses or investigations of incidents. When military experts began to question the validity of his story on technical grounds (it implied soldiers being permitted to behave in a manner absolutely forbidden in concern for their own safety and the completion of any assigned mission) the entire matter was quietly dropped from the MSM a day later.

He spent eight years in Egypt where he learned to speak Arabic. His father was a U.S. diplomat. Aidan also lived in Thailand and Senegal. He graduated from the Cairo American College in 2000 . He is currently a student at New College Of Florida .

In February 2006 , Blues Guitar ist Robert Cray released a video for his song "Twenty", about the Iraq War, in which Delgado portrayed a soldier coming home.
