''After the Thin Man'' was the 1936 sequel to the film The Thin Man . It starred William Powell and Myrna Loy , as Nick and Nora Charles, and James Stewart . This time the murder victim and suspects are members of Nora's high-society family; at the end, Nora tells Nick something he hasn't detected yet: In this film, Nora Charles reveals that they're going to have a baby. The solution in this film is perhaps the most surprising out of all the movies: the character played by James Stewart turns out to be the maniacal murderer. The film was directed by W. S.
