Adam Krafft




Adam Kraft or '''Krafft''' (c. 1455 - January 1509 ) was a German Sculptor of the late Gothic period. His Masterpiece is considered to be the 18.7 meter (61 foot) Tabernacle in the St. Lorenz church of Nuremberg . Kraft is believed to have completed all of his sculpting work in Nuremberg, Bavaria , between the years 1490 and 1507 , working with only a small complement of two or three assistants.

Kraft was born and raised in Nuremberg, which is also where he did the vast majority of his sculpting work and where much of it can still be found today. Many of his pieces are exhibited at the Nuremburg museum Germanisches Nationalmuseum . Kraft is believed to have married twice, but is not known to have produced any children.
