GEOGRAPHY According to the United States Census Bureau , the township has a total area of 11.9 Km&2 (4.6 Mi&2 ). 11.9 km&2 (4.6 mi&2) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census 2 of 2000, there were 1,616 people, 609 households, and 476 families residing in the township. The Population Density was 135.6/km&2 (351.0/mi&2). There were 625 housing units at an average density of 52.5/km&2 (135.7/mi&2). The racial makeup of the township was 96.97% White , 0.00% African American , 0.00% Native American , 2.66% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.00% from Other Races , and 0.37% from two or more races. 0.62% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 609 households out of which 34.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.1% were Married Couples living together, 5.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.7% were non-families. 19.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.65 and the average family size was 3.06. In the township the population was spread out with 25.6% under the age of 18, 5.0% from 18 to 24, 20.5% from 25 to 44, 33.2% from 45 to 64, and 15.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 96.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.0 males. The median income for a household in the township was $73,611, and the median income for a family was $91,359. Males had a median income of $80,195 versus $34,643 for females. The Per Capita Income for the township was $44,551. 2.9% of the population and 2.2% of families were below the Poverty Line . 0.7% of those under the age of 18 and 4.6% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line. |
