Aaron Pierce is a Fictional Character on the Television Series '' 24 '', played by actor Glenn Morshower . Pierce is a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service , tasked with leading the teams guarding, at various times, David Palmer , John Keeler , and Charles Logan . A quiet and unassuming man, Pierce has one son, who, when last he was mentioned, was serving in the United States Navy . He is one of only four characters (with Jack Bauer , David Palmer , and Tony Almeida ) to appear in all five seasons of the show, and the only one of those to never appear in the main cast. He has developed a following among the show's Fandom . BIOGRAPHY Aaron Pierce joined the Secret Service during Ronald Reagan 's second term in office, and was eventually assigned to the detail of Presidential Candidate Senator David Palmer ( D - MD ) while he was campaigning during Day One. He is also the last of those characters besides Jack whose character is still alive since the deaths of Palmer and Almeida in episodes 1 and 13 of season 5 respectively. DAY TWO, THREE AND FOUR Following Palmer's victory, Pierce continued to head up his detail. During the events of the series' Day Two, a Conspiracy of officials within Palmer's administration worked against him. Pierce was a faithful confidante of Palmer, and counseled him to follow his instincts. After Vice President James Prescott and the Cabinet invoked the 25th Amendment , Aaron was compelled to take Palmer in to custody. However, he was swayed by Palmer's argument, and smuggled a Cellular Phone in to help Palmer. He was intitially detained for this, but when Palmer was vindicated, Pierce was restored to his position. He continued on with the President, and tried to convince him to leave Los Angeles during Day Three, when he believed the terrorist threat was too severe to justify the President remaining. Palmer appealed to Aaron's loyalty, and convinced him to let him remain in LA. Following Palmer's decision not to seek a second term, Pierce became lead agent to the new Republican President, John Keeler , and to Charles Logan after that. When Palmer was asked to come to the White House to assist in resolving a crisis, Pierce was one of the first to welcome the former President. Pierce later informed Palmer and Logan that a woman CTU had in custody ( Mandy ) was responsible for an attempt on Palmer's life years earlier. DAY FIVE In Day Five, Aaron accompanied President Logan and First Lady Martha Logan to the Presidential retreat near Los Angeles . He later assisted Jack Bauer in exposing the conspiracy against Logan perpetrated by Walt Cummings . When Martha accompanied the motorcade carrying the Russian President Yuri Suvarov and his wife, Aaron joined them. When terrorists attacked the motorcade, Pierce bravely defended Martha and the Suvarovs, killing several terrorists. Pierce suffered minor injuries in the attack but apparently returned to duty soon after. Upon their return to the retreat, Martha privately thanked Pierce for his actions. The moment of affection was interrupted, however, by the President's senior aide, Mike Novick . Afterwards, Pierce attempted to assure Novick that nothing inappropriate happened. Novick sternly warned Pierce not to let it happen again. Later in Day 5, he was contacted by Wayne Palmer , who left before martial law was declared. After sharing heartfelt condolences over David's death, Wayne appeals to Pierce's loyalty of his brother so they can meet face to face over information related to his assassination and the events of today. Later, he rescued Wayne Palmer from attackers sent by Christopher Henderson . In the following hour, President Logan issued an arrest warrant for Jack Bauer, which was broadcasted as a top priority. Pierce learned about the warrant and called Jack Bauer to notify him. Pierce suspected that the vice president was not involved, and Jack confirmed this by telling him that it was President Logan who was involved. An hour later, James Heller arrived at the presidential retreat to attempt to force Logan's resignation. Martha approached Pierce to ask why Heller wanted to meet with Logan, and Pierce told the First Lady to meet him by the stables, where he would disclose the reason. Pierce did not meet with Martha as planned, however. Martha was then shocked to see Aaron's abandoned phone on the grass a few feet from her. Logan claims that Pierce was transferred back to Washington, although this has not been confirmed and ultimately seems unlikely considering that no one else who knew about Logan's involvement in the day's events has been allowed to live, aside from Logan's wife. |
