2005 Atlantic Power Outage




The Atlantic Power Outage of 2005 caused millions of people along the Atlantic coast of the USA to suffer Power Outage s. Winter storms caused power cuts from December 15, 2005 onwards.

Electricity was not restored in many places until December 20, 2005, by which time there had been fatalities due to the lack of power. In one instance an elderly man and woman had used a Power Generator inside their home and died from Carbon Monoxide poisoning.

The Carolinas , which suffered the most damage since Hurricane Hugo , had most of their population without electricity for six days.
