FRIENDLY Adelaide United played in total twelve friendlies against South Australian Premier League and South Australian State League clubs, as well as three matches against the other A-League clubs.
With the FFA rules stipulating A-League clubs could only play against each other in non-FFA sanctioned matches, United played Melbourne Victory in Bendigo in a friendly match.
United was also involved in a three-team, two-game series with Newcastle and Queensland held in Coffs Harbour in the middle of July.
CLUB WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS Seven of the A-League clubs participated in a short tournament to find who would be Australia's representative at the FIFA Club World Cup in December. The New Zealand Knights did not compete, and Perth Glory received a bye into the second round.
