''1st and 10'' is a sports talk and debate show that began in 2004 and appears Monday through Friday on ESPN2 's morning program '' Cold Pizza '' at 10am ET and 12pm ET and reaires on ESPN at 4pm ET. It is produced by ''ESPN Original Entertainment''. The show is hosted by Jay Crawford along with sports columnists Skip Bayless and Woody Paige . Woody Paige is also a frequent panelist on ESPN 's '' Around The Horn '' at 5pm ET. They will also often appear live on site at sports events such as College Football games, the Super Bowl , Daytona 500 as well as the Final Four . It is filmed at the ESPN studios in New York City, New York . Jay Crawford joined ESPN as co-host of '' Cold Pizza '' and remains the only original host of the show to still be there. Previously he served as the sports director for WFTS-TV in Tampa Bay, Florida . Woody Paige joined ESPN in 2004 after over thirty years as a sports columnist at the Denver Post and Skip Bayless joined ESPN in 2004 as well after a long period as a columnist for newspapers such as the Dallas Morning News , Miami Herald and the Los Angeles Times . Regular fill-ins for the show include Doug Gottlieb , Stephen A. Smith and Michael Irvin . During the show Paige and Bayless argue over ten of the top story lines in the sports world, which are rarely agreed upon. The topics are broken up into four different times of the show: 1st down, 2nd down, 3rd down, 4th down and the extra point. They also take e-mail which they read and discuss on the air and has drawn many similarities to the sports talk show '' Pardon The Interruption .'' Bayless is known to take shots at Terrell Owens whenever possible and Paige is known for using props to help prove his point whether it's eating sushi, reading Drew Bledsoe 's diary or making charts that serve no purpose, he will always make you laugh.
