1989 Japanese Grand Prix

CLASSIFICATION

NOTES

  • Fastest Lap: Alain Prost 1'43.506

  • This race decided the 1989 World Championship in Prost's favour, after a collision at the final chicane between him and Senna put them both off the track. While Senna restarted his car and overhauled Alessandro Nannini to take victory, he was controversially later disqualified for receiving a push-start from marshalls in an illegal position, handing the title to Prost.
