TRIVIA

  • By 1922, the term "World Series" was frequently used as opposed to "World's Series".

  • Game 2, a tie called on account of darkness, produced such an uproar that Baseball Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis ordered the gate receipts turned over to charity.

  • Every game was played at the Polo Grounds with the home team alternating.

  • This was Giants' manager John McGraw's final Series win.
