The 1905 season was very inactive. Of the five Tropical Storm s that formed, only one became a Hurricane . That one hurricane achieved major hurricane strength before spinning out to sea.


STORMS


Tropical Storm One

The season began late with a tropical storm hitting the Lesser Antilles on September 6 .


Tropical Storm Two

Another storm soon followed, passing northeast of the islands in the middle of the month.


Tropical Storm Three

September saw a third storm form in the northwest Caribbean , hitting the Yucatán Peninsula , and makin landfall on the southern coast of Louisiana in the last week of the month.


Major Hurricane Four

A tropical storm formed in the southwest Caribbean Sea and hit Haiti in early October. The storm went out to sea, reaching major hurricane strength east of Bermuda .


Tropical Storm Five

The final storm formed in the Gulf Of Mexico and hit Louisiana on October 9 .
